Forecast for Liberia Team

Our 14 person team leaves this Sunday for Liberia.  We’ve had a few obstacles to overcome in the last couple days, but it seems now everything is in order.

What do we forecast for the trip?

1.  First and foremost…a chance to serve the Liberian People.  Our team will be doing leadership development for Liberian Leaders, and putting on a Vacation Bible School for hundreds of Liberian children (we had 400 last year!).  We also hope to install more water systems to bring clean drinking water and possibly do some construction work on their church building.

2.  Re-fashioning of American hearts.  I know this is what happened to me last year and I am praying for the same for our team this year. I imagine people will comeback with larger capacity for compassion and a smaller view of the world.

3.  Plans for the future…We are preparing to make a major investment in our Liberian Ministry.  Having the perspective our team there will help us navigate making those investments wisely in the coming months and years.

Just for fun, I also put the weather forecast below for Monrovia, Liberia.  There is a reason we make these trips in the winter!

  1. Pls ask the team to greet Danny & family with great fondness and love on behalf of Leslie & me. Keep us in mind as workers for a 2012 trip as I will be on sabbatical then. God be with the Suncrest servants. Our daily prayers will accompany you (I mean, y’all). John

  2. Greg, and all. Our team from LEAD, Inc and Partners Worldwide has been on the ground for a few days now and are getting ready to blast into our 5 day whirlwind of Micro Finance and Business as Missions activities. I am excited for the Suncrest team to arrive, and pray God’s rich blessings. I can see ELWA from here. It looks nice!

  3. Sending prayers for the Suncrest team…may your journey be safe, your tssks be done with a joyful heart as you will surely feel the love of God all around you! What an awesome experience. Also, sincere greetings to Bea and Danny and the children. God bless them all.

  4. My prayers are with the entire team. What a blessing for them and for Danny, Bea and kids to experience the love they will feel. Danny and Bea are so excited to have the team visit and help with so many things. Many blessings to all! Thanks too for the weather update in Liberia..ha!!
