another suncrest story

Every month our elders have dinner together and invite one of our staff members.  Tonight was with Chris Hall, our East Campus Student ministry director.

It’s fun for me to look up in our staff meetings and see Chris sitting at the table.  10 years ago, I would look up in our middle school ministry and see that same face.  Man am I getting old.

Some things haven’t changed in Chris over those 10 years.  He is as genuine as they come.  He puts himself through the annual grief of rooting for the cubs. 🙂  And his faith is growing…it always has.

Some things have changed.  He was a follower, now he’s a leader.  He has found the girl of his dreams in Ashley with a fall wedding planned (and he was the first to agree when I told the elders tonight that he was “marrying up”).  His ministry perspective has been shaped by a great mentor in Jared Mehrle.

For some time Chris has been a “product” of our mission…someone who’s life was shaped by this church.

Today, he is a devoted “partner” in accomplishing our mission…serving the church so it can be used by God to change more lives.

One Response to “another suncrest story”

  1. Greg: I just would like to say that Chris has been a blessing to our family. He has been an answer to our prayers. Chris has made a huge connection woth our 13yr. old son Cody. Cody looks up to Chris. Thank you Suncrest for seeing potential in Chris and thank you Chris for stepping up to the plate. Ashley, I believe God has a special place in His heart for ministers’ wives. I can’t wait to get to know you more.
